About Enigma

We find technical leaders for Emerging and Enabling Technology industries.

We help Electronics, Photonics and Semiconductor R&D teams identify and hire the technical leaders that are essential to their success. I am an advisory board member to Technology Scotland www.technologyscotland.scot and sit on the steering committee for EPSRC & SFI CDT in Photonic Integration & Advanced Data Storage

With over 25 years technology recruitment industry experience working in agencies and as an in-house recruiter for Cisco Systems earlier in my career, I have been a partner and investor in a number of consultancies since 2002.

Enigma People Solutions offers professional, retained recruitment search and selection services to amazing technology businesses across the UK, and internationally. We find technical leaders for the ‘Emerging and Enabling’ and ‘Deep Technology’ industries.

I lead our specialist Electronics, Photonics and Semiconductor recruitment business. Working with client businesses and design teams of all sizes in the System on Chip and Electronic Engineering industry, we are one of the very few recruiters with a proven ability to fill the most challenging vacancies for both permanent and contract hires. We help clients recruit for skills in opto-electronics, firmware, hardware, electronic design, embedded software, digital, ASIC, analogue, mixed signal and more.

We believe the only way to do recruitment is ethically and strive to give the industry the good name it deserves. Our recruitment process focuses on matching skills to job roles and personalities to company culture, acting in the best interest of both the clients and the candidates we work with.

Additional about us information

Opening up Photonics Initiative

We are delighted to be on the board of the Opening up Photonics Initiative. Photonics Scotland, in partnership with the University of Glasgow, Institute of Physics and Innovate UK KTN, launched its Opening up Photonics (OuP) initiative, a platform to support the Scottish photonics industry to discuss and address, barriers faced by minority groups in Scotland’s photonics sector. The initiative aims to increase accessibility, champion diversity, and ensure a welcoming environment for all.

We believe that tackling the barriers faced by minority groups is key to attracting new talent and addressing the issue of the shortage of candidates in the industry

Centre for Doctoral Training in Photonic Integration and Advance Data Storage

We are pleased to be on the board of PIADS. The EPSRC and SFI Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Photonic Integration and Advanced Data Storage is a vibrant research community bringing together postgraduate researchers and academics from Queen’s University Belfast, the University of Glasgow and the Irish Photonic Integration Centre in Cork. Working closely with industry, their research aims to tackle some of the challenges created by the increasing quantities of data generated by today’s society.

They have ambitious plans to enhance equality, diversion and inclusivity in the PhDs. One of their key goals is to grow the number of females coming into the area which is a goal we are very passionate about as a business having been twice nominated as gender recruiter of the year by Scotland Women in Technology.

Edinburgh Sabre Club – a passion and an interest

When we are not recruiting we are supporting and training people in the Olympic Fencing sport of Sabre. We give children learning the sport a safe, happy and enthusiastic experience and environment in which to learn, grow and challenge themselves. I have a real passion for the sport and it enables us as a business to give something back to our community and young people.
